Parivash Moslemi needs urgent medical attention care in Evin

Parivash Moslemi, a political detainee, has been held in Evin Prison for over 40 days without a resolution of her legal status. Despite her deteriorating physical condition, she has been denied access to necessary specialized medical care.

Recently, Parivash Moslemi was briefly transferred to a hospital for treatment but was returned to prison shortly thereafter without receiving appropriate medical attention.

Since July 27, Ms. Moslemi has been deprived of phone calls and visits with her family.

On August 6, following an altercation in the women’s ward, she sustained injuries to her hand and forehead from baton strikes by prison guards.

Four days later, with visible bruising on her hand, she was sent to the hospital. However, due to the absence of a doctor and a power outage, she returned to prison without receiving medical services.

On August 12, she was again sent to Tajrish Hospital, where the medical staff only applied a splint and then sent her back to prison.

Her hand injuries, including bruising and pain, worsened over time. On August 14, her condition deteriorated after a fall from a bed, leading to her transfer to Tajrish Hospital.

There, a specialist examined her and found that her hand was fractured in two places, though the fractures had started to heal on their own and required surgery. A cast was applied to her hand.

Additionally, the medical team conducted X-rays of her neck and back, revealing a herniated disc that requires specialized treatment.

Currently, Parivash Moslemi can walk only with the assistance of fellow inmates, but her back pain has worsened since her initial injury, necessitating specialized care.

Ms. Moslemi was arrested on July 7, 2023, after appearing at the Evin Prosecutor’s Office and was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison. She has previously faced charges including “propaganda against the state”, “insulting the founder and leadership”, and “assembly and collusion.” She has a history of prior arrests.

Parivash Moslemi, born in 1978, was arrested by security forces in Nur city in April 2024. She was released from one of the city’s security detention centers after three days.

Previously, in September 2023, coinciding with the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, Ms. Moslemi was detained by security forces. She was eventually released a month later on bail from Qarchak Prison in Varamin.
