SIX. A LOCAL NONPROFIT IS CELEBRATING A BIG MILESTONE THIS MORNING. STAFF AT ELDER SERVE CUT THE RIBBON ON ITS NEW LIFE ADULT DAY CENTER IN THE RUSSELL NEIGHBORHOOD. AT THE CENTER, OLDER ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY CAN RECEIVE SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE, PARTICULARLY THOSE SUFFERING FROM ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA, AND STAFF HOPES THAT THE NEW CENTER WILL CONTINUE TO EMPOWER SENIORS, HELPING THEM TO OVERCOME ISOLATION AND MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE. WE’LL HAVE PROFESSIONAL STAFF THAT WILL ENGAGE IN PROGRAMS, NUTRITION IN CERTAIN MEDICAL CARE, AND IT’S FOR THOSE WHO NEED SPECIALIZED CARE AND COVERAGE. AND WE’RE GOING TO DO THAT EVERY DAY MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. AND AND WE HAVE MEDICAL BILLING HERE. SO IT’S GOING TO BE A TREMENDOUS, TREMENDOUS OFFERING FOR THIS AREA.

A Louisville nonprofit is celebrating a milestone in the Russell neighborhood.On Thursday, staff at ElderServe held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its New Life Adult Day Center.Older adults in the community can receive specialized medical at the center, specifically those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.ElderServe staff says the nonprofit has been helping seniors overcome social isolation and maintain their independence for more than 60 years.”We’ll have a professional staff that will engage in programs like nutrition, and certain medical care,” said CEO Timothy Findley. “It’s for those who need specialized care and coverage.”The New Life Day Center is expected to start taking clients later this year.
